Sharon Rawlins
22:55
Hi, Sharon Rawlins, convener for State Libraries' Youth Services Consultants' Interest Group.
Mike Marlin
24:23
With the increased traffic Zoom has been randomly kicking folks out of meetings unexpectedly, at least that is happening in lots of meetings I have attended!
Alec McFarlane
27:37
Nothing for a deaf person here it seems...
Mike Marlin
29:38
Hi Alec, apologies for no captioning. I will inquire further for you afterwards.
Simon Healey
32:49
Can the documents beings used as scren shots be distrubuted through ASGCLA lists??
carriebanks
33:33
Simon, I believe they are up on connect. If not, we will share out asap.
Mike Marlin
34:17
Simon, I just sent it to you
Diane W
36:15
I looked on connect and the ascgla pages yesterday but couldn't find this table.
Erin Boyington CO State Library
36:54
How would going to ODLOS impact our ability to get conference presentations accepted and meeting rooms?
Ninah Moore
37:29
Please mute your lines
Mike Marlin
38:14
I just sent the doc to the ASGCCLA listserv

42:07
Thank you, Dan!
Alec McFarlane
45:11
We have a meeting I can't participate in, what am I supposed to say?
Wendy Knapp
49:00
I do appreciate all the work that has gone into this as well. It's an unfortunate situation.
Greg Pronevitz
49:35
Is there a disadvantage to having Phys Del in RUSA and other consortial IGs in CORE?
Deirdre Brennan
50:07
Greg, i was thinking about that also!
Deirdre Brennan
50:31
i don't think that it makes sense for delivery to be in RUSA
Babak
51:39
A general question: do you have a sense of how many other interest groups are doing this kind of merger at the same time? I'm curious mostly because we have such a mixture of interests, and I'd hate for a merger to happen only for the merged group to disappear as well
Sharon Rawlins
51:49
Access to digital resources is going to be an even bigger issue now in the midst of the pandemic.
Ranti Junus
51:51
I concur with Marti's concerns.
Susan Palmer IHLS
51:53
@ Greg and Dee, unless it is the resource sharing piece? Good questions though.
Mike Marlin
52:57
There has been some very loose talk about whether underserved populations might consider forming or resurrecting a round table.
Simon Healey
54:55
I had thoutght thst EUSA had decided to join CORES
Monica Harris
55:19
I am a member of CORE, currently work in a System/Consortia, and am part of Physical Delivery Group. I am not currently a member of RUSA.
Tracy Byerly
55:27
Consortia Management IG may go to CORE, still exploring. There hasn't been much chatter yet
Simon Healey
57:03
Ebooks was an ALA Working Group / Task Force before it was folded into ASGCLA and maybe it should go back to big ALA
Dawn Rapoza
58:52
CORE Sections https://core.ala.org/sections/
Deirdre Brennan
01:00:55
Thanks Dawn!
Simon Healey
01:00:57
Well that's confusing and very very ALA ...
Mike Marlin
01:01:44
Marti, just in some brainstorming conversations I've had. Contact me offline if you're interested, though I'm not sure it's the best strategy. I have other ideas.
Simon Healey
01:04:11
Completely agree with Marti and EDI ahould be enlarged to take accessibility issues and groups with the passing of ASGCLA
Julie Luplow
01:04:52
Our group, LSID, wonders about meeting room space at ALA conferences as well as workshop consideration that ASGCLA aided with a move to ODLOS, or the like
carriebanks
01:05:59
EDI was envisioned to encompass disability, Loida’s presidential invasive brought that home I think. ASGCLA has always played the role of reminding people of that “Disability” is the “D” in EDI. We, as individuals, we need to do this in
Simon Healey
01:06:10
Does ASGCLA know why the division was losing memebers ??
marti
01:10:16
Comment - I will not pay dues to join ACRL - which has nothing to do with my work~ that means I will be out of Universal Access work.
Michael Golrick
01:11:35
Would Universal Access fit somewhere else?
nancy
01:12:01
Is there any chance of a one year gift membership to the places where the interest group members are going? It's not the member's choice to have ASGCLA go away. Maybe pay one amount and get all three for one year.
Kelsey Chandler
01:13:59
Is there a way to have an interest group than spans divisions-perhaps involving members from ACRL, PLA, etc.? I realize this might be impossible with the way things are set up and funded.
Babak
01:14:10
My question got buried, but I'll ask it again: A general question: do you have a sense of how many other interest groups are doing this kind of merger at the same time? I'm curious mostly because we have such a mixture of interests, and I'd hate for a merger to happen only for the merged group to disappear as well
marti
01:16:29
Groups like REFORA and the Black Caucus are affiliate groups that are supported by ODLOS. Maybe a Disability Community Services affiliate organization?
Mike Marlin
01:17:06
The Board is having to make immediate decisions on a short timeline. The Exec Dir position is going away at end of summer and not being refilled by ALA. Please keep giving us your input.
Reed Strege
01:18:00
I have to jump off the call! I will support continuing the work of the Accessibility Assembly to wherever it will have the most impact. Thanks, Reed (Chair, Accessibility Assembly)
Mike Marlin
01:19:07
Hi Marti, yes a caucus or affiliate association is what I was thinking. let's talk soon.
marti
01:19:22
Let's do, Mike!
tevans
01:19:36
