Libraries, Comics and Superheroes of Color: Strengthening our Reading Communities
Comics have a valuable role in teaching literacy and are a format increasingly available at academic, public and school libraries. It is beautiful when we can promote reading through comics reflecting our communities of color. Our children, teens and people from all ages are empowered by the timely issues impacting our world and communities included in comics. Join us as we explore these realities on this webinar keynoted by Saladin Ahmed, Marvel writer on Magnificent Ms. Marvel and Miles Morales: Spider-Man, and with Chloe Ramos-Peterson, Library Marketing Coordinator at Image Comics, and Deirdre Hollman, educator and Founder and Creative Director of the Black Comics Collective.
