ALA invites you to attend Libraries Respond: Racial Healing and Transforming Communities through Mental Health Practices, a virtual panel discussion made up of ALA division leaders on Tuesday, February 25th, 2025 at 3pm CT. This panel is organized by the Office for Diversity, Literacy, and Outreach Services (ODLOS). The ninety minute virtual event will begin with mental health professional Grace Le sharing her expertise on how mental health can impact our individual journeys towards racial healing. Following the presentation is a moderated panel that will share ALA leaders' perspectives and experiences on collective community healing towards racial equity and our roles in our library spaces.
Our panel will be moderated by the Committee on Diversity Chair, Nichelle M. Hayes. Our panelists include AASL President Becky Calzada, PLA President Michael Lambert, CSKBART Chair Janice Newsum, RUSA President Ilana Stonebraker, and ACRL Vice-President Brad Warren.
