Intellectual Freedom Awards Celebration 2021
The ALA Intellectual Freedom Round Table, Freedom to Read Foundation, and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign iSchool invite library professionals and the public to a free virtual celebration of their intellectual freedom award winners!

The organizations will honor the recipients of the Roll of Honor Award, Robert B. Downs Intellectual Freedom Award, John Phillip Immroth Memorial Award, Gerald Hodges Intellectual Freedom Chapter Relations Award, and Eli M. Oboler Memorial Award.

The event welcomes ALA President Julius C. Jefferson Jr. and keynote speaker Kyle Lukoff, author of the banned and challenged books "When Aidan Became a Brother" and "Call Me Max." Lukoff is an award-winning children's book author, school librarian, and former bookseller. His newest novel for middle grade published this year, titled "Too Bright to See," now has six starred reviews.
